Sinar Eco Resort Johor - Farm Stay with Kids near Singapore

Image
In my quest to get the kids more acquainted with nature, we went for a farm stay in Johor.   Nestled in the quiet tranquility of an oil palm estate, Sinar Eco Resort provides the perfect atmosphere to wind down a nd get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Not only is the resort full of farm animals, there are also plenty of family-friendly activities, and fantastic accommodation as well! Sinar Eco Resort at Pekan Nanas is conveniently located within 40 minutes from Singapore Tuas Checkpoint. Getting to the resort was not a problem at all. We just plotted Pekan Nanas city centre in the GPS, and once there, there are lots of signs showing the directions to the resort. The whole booking process is simple and straightforward. I did it through WhatsApp and the person I spoke to (Devaa) was helpful and quick to reply. The apartment room we got was great for our family of 5. The room was spacious, with 2 queen beds, clea...

Low Carb Roasted Cauliflowers with Tomatoes recipe

Image
Cauliflower is quite under-rated. It is not strong-tasting and probably quite forgettable as a vegetable. We hardly ate much cauliflower before we started on a low-carb lifestyle. But cauliflower is great as rice replacement - it is low carb, full of fiber and very satiating. On top of that, it is rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C. We have been including a lot more cauliflowers in our diets and are loving it. Boiling or steaming cauliflower makes them waterlogged and mushy. I prefer to sauté or bake them instead. This baked version in a casserole dish gives a delicious nutty roasted flavour while maintaining its crunch, and the tomatoes add some tanginess to it. A perfect side dish! Roasted Cauliflowers with Tomatoes Ingredients: 1 head cauliflower - cut into bite-sized florets 2 tomatoes - cut into wedges 4 cloves garlic - minced salt and pepper - generous amount olive oil Instructions: Preheat oven to 180℃ Toss together cauliflower, tomatoes, ga...

Taipei - Exploring Ximending - shopping, dining and street food

Image
Ximending is a trendy and lively area - the bustling streets surely appeal to the younger generations and the young at heart. Jam packed with shops selling cosmetic and skin care products, fashionable clothes, accessories, shoes, toys, phones, gadgets, arts and crafts. If you are into Korean cosmetic and skin care products, you will love this place. The Face Shop, Innisfree, Skinfood, Etude House, Tony Moly... all can be found here. If you are looking for sheet masks and other Taiwanese skin care products, head to Watsons, which is enormous and well stocked. Most shops open till late so Ximending can be your last stop for the day. I was more interested in browsing through the little stalls on the side streets, and I managed to find some interesting bargains there. But this store was my most exciting find in Ximen. All the gorgeous colours and patterns, at reasonable prices. Love it so much! 😍😍😍 Ximen is also famed f...
