Happy Birthday and DIY Banners
It's my little one's birthday yesterday.
He's got this obsession about the cable car ever since we got the annual pass two years ago. Needless to say, he's requested everything cable car for his birthday.
I got the 2 brothers to make some cable car banners to decorate the house.
All we did was printed some cable car pictures off the Internet, coloured them in and stuck them on some colourful papers. Then we put them on a string and hung them up.
We were very pleased with how they turned out!
His birthday being so close to CNY, I haven't even got the chance to take down our CNY decors.
For the Happy Birthday banner, I just drew it free-hand and coloured it in.
Then folded the top of the papers, slid a ribbon in, stuck it with scotch tape. The same way as the triangular banners.
We had a mini celebration in his kindy in the morning. It's really uplifting to see his teeny face lit up when he saw us coming into the school with his cable car birthday cake. He couldn't stop grinning from ear to ear, so busy telling all his friends and teachers about how much he loved the cable car. He was so glued to me, holding my hands all the time, and being so appreciative. It's amazing how such little things can bring so much happiness to a little child!
We had another celebration with his cousins and relatives at home too.
Followed by a mouth-watering chocolate cake. The little one was over the moon when he saw the cable car topper that we made ourselves.
When I asked him what was the best thing about his birthday, he answered "the colourful cable cars", without hesitation. I wish he would remain this innocent and happy for many many more years to come.
