Taipei - Omakase lunch set at Mitsui Cuisine Japanese Restaurant

Mitsui Cuisine is famous for their high quality dishes, amazing service and ambience. We heard nothing but great reviews about this place and decided to give it a go.

As we walked in, we were impressed by the elegant, dark and posh dΓ©cor. It definitely set the tone to the rest of our time here.

Mitsui Cuisine has both ala-carte and set menu, but they are famous for the omakase set meals with an interesting array of fresh produce.

All dinner and lunch set meals have different price options. Simply set the budget and let the supervisor know what ingredients you like or dislike and the chef will prepare for you accordingly. We ordered the basic set lunch at NT$1200 (SG$60).

To kick start our meal we had a beautiful plate of seasonal sashimi handpicked by the chef.

The sashimi was melt-in-my-mouth fresh.

Followed by delicious salad topped with fresh abalone.

The pan-fried cod looked unassuming but was deliciously moist and tender with a crispy crust.

The beef was tender and cooked to perfection.

The lobster tempura was a slight let-down, with too much batter.

The assorted sushi was fantastic too, especially the tuna which melted in the mouth.

Finishing our savoury meal was a bowl of fish miso soup.

The perfect ending to this delightful lunch was a serving of sweet red bean soup, fresh fruits and coffee.

Definitely worth a try in Taipei as we can't get this quality food in this gorgeous setting at this price range in Singapore!

It is best to make a reservation before coming in as the restaurant is popular and gets very crowded.
