Chinese Sweet Soy Chicken Thighs recipe
My kids' favourite! It is sweet and savoury at its best. I make this at least once a month, the boys never get tired of it and are always asking for more.
This is my go to dinner on lazy days when I don't know what to cook and don't want to spend much time in the kitchen. It still looks like I have made much effort! 😉
Chinese Sweet Soy Chicken Thighs
Ingredients:
800g chicken thighs boneless
3 cloves garlic - minced
3 tbsp. light soy sauce
1 tbsp. oyster sauce
1 tbsp. sesame oil
1 tbsp. sugar
pepper
Instructions:
- Marinate chicken with the rest of the ingredients for about an hour
- Heat cooking oil in a wok over medium high heat, place chicken skin side down, reserving the marinate for later
- When one side has browned, flip the chicken, and brown the other side
- Pour the marinate, add ½ cup water, cover and simmer
- Continue cooking until chicken is cooked through (about 20 minutes), flipping every 5 minutes
- Serve over rice
